Nature and Idioms
The lesson aims to reconnect students (level B1 and higher) with nature and with each other through a variety of activities that help them learn nature-related idioms while also becoming "land artists." Students shift their focus to the natural environment, using natural materials creatively and closely observing their surroundings.
At the beginning of the lesson, students take part in activities that develop their nature-related vocabulary, particularly idioms. They start with a running dictation, then act out the idioms and practise using them in conversation. Next, they express the idioms through land art, which stimulates their creativity and encourages deeper engagement with meaning. After this, students are invited to a "gallery," where they present and discuss their artworks. At the end of the lesson, students review the vocabulary and take part in a final debriefing.
